A tornado of unbridled sexual desire is unleashed when a free spirited seductress sets her sights on a reclusive playwright. Wet Woman in the Wind highlights the id in its stream of consciousness tale. Having a character who overturns the inhibitions of all that cross her path with wild abandon allows this striking entry in Nikkatsu's Roman Porno Reboot series to transcend its sexploitation raison d'être. Director Shiota cuts to the chase, taking advantage of the subgenre's sparse requirements: a sex scene every ten minutes with a total running time no longer than 80 minutes. What ensues is a gleefully anarchic plot that explores the human psyche through sexuality within a psychodrama that is as hilarious as it is titillating. Featuring a tour de force performance by Yuki Mamiya as the eponymous agent provocateur, Wet Woman in the Wind is a "hugely enjoyable film - and often, partly because of its relative demureness, a fairly arousing one, with female pleasure and male discomfiture foremost on the menu" (Screen International).

    Chuck Bowen, Slant Magazine
  • "Wet Woman in the Wind is a hugely enjoyable entry in the Roman Porno Reboot with committed performances, a witty script that shrewdly comments on sexual politics and assured direction from Akihiko Shiota."
    Harris Dang, easternKicks.com
  • "“Wet Woman in the Wind” is a beguiling feature about temptation, seduction and the idea of pretentiousness, especially in the artistic field. Apart from titillating sex scenes, Akihiko Shiota‘s work is a great blend of comedy and even romance, another great entry into the Roman Porno Reboot Project."
    Rouven Linnarz, Asian Movie Pulse
  • "Campy, intriguing and funny."
    Catherine Sedgwick, The Upcoming
  • "In keeping with Nikkatsu’s strict guidelines of a one-week shoot, sub-80-minute runtime, and nudity every 10 minutes, the film proves not just a legitimately erotic affair, but also a hugely entertaining one. The frequently disrobed Mamiya is a playfully spirited screen presence."
James Marsh, South China Morning Post
  • "A fun loving pastiche, Wet Woman in the Wind is an oddly whimsical tale, witty yet insightful even its seeming lightness."
    Hayley Scanlon, Windows on Worlds
